16 years in power his party is staring at defeat mr quick word for the bbc quick word for the bbc can you do it by sunday yes and your leadership we are moving in we see a 2020 Funny Christmas Pajama For Family T-Shirt situation where the both candidates are very close together and you see we are fighting and I think we will win the elections and in terms of your personal poll rating versus olaf schultz how do you convince germans that you’re the worthier successor to chancellor merkel yes I did and chancellor merkel herself says this is the best candidate and i’m proud that she is supporting me thank you arkhan in western germany a university town and also armand lashit’s home state if he’s in trouble here that shows the power of the old social democratic foe how did merkel’s chosen successor fall behind even here part of the reason can be found in a nearby rhineland community swamped by flooding in july even today the high street is struggling to get back on its feet in the guns but. Already this morning in the media but the leaders of the liberals and the greens were saying okay we’re going to be pragmatic we’re going to see what direction we as a team can move forward and these two parties on the surface they seem very different one high tax one low tax in reality they’ve been talking behind the scenes for years they have set up this group which has been meeting for cocktails and the west berlin bar since the last collapse of those talks between the two to fight to figure out where they can have a meeting of mines and they do have issues where they come together they want modernization they want digitalization they’re both open to migration for example so they have a lot of similarities and it’s those similarities they’re going to try and focus on really I think okay well the sbd have made the first move on the chess board it would seem we perhaps wait to see if I mean lachette of the cdu makes the second move possibly a defensive one but the coalition talks are just beginning to take some shape german political leaders meet today to kick off the fractious process of coalition talks after the central left social democrats won a narrow victory in this weekend’s election party leader olaf schultz is insisting he will be able to form a governing coalition with two smaller parties but angela merkel’s conservatives who came in a close second are also arguing that they have a mandate to form a new government that puts the spotlight on the green party and the free democrats as germany enters what could be months of coalition negotiations after a tight race the final results brought clarity all of schultz and his social democrats edging a small but definite lead over the conservatives it’s a breathtaking turn around for a party that only a few months ago many had written off but the sbd won’t be able to govern alone their leader made it clear who his favorite partners would be Applause the voters made it very clear they told us that we should form the government they strengthened three parties. Maintain his uh his standing in the party we’ve heard uh some disgruntled comments within uh the parties some members calling for lashed to resign others saying that they really don’t see a mandate to form a government and that the ceu should do some soul searching before they decide to take lead again but amin lashit seems determined to hold on to the hope and possibility and he said he he is available and as we’ve said um the coalition talks between the other parties could collapse and then the cdu could eventually uh play a role in terms of possibly forming a government if these talks between the spd the greens and the fdp do fail okay but the first step we’ve got the social democrats talking to the probably the greek the greens and the fdp trying to put together a three way coalition what are the main challenges julia to forming that coalition well between the social democrats and the greens there are some closer points of contact in terms of party programs the two parties had said before the election and had said that again that they were happy to uh possibly govern together and now the uh the joker fdp has come into play and um this complicates the situation a little bit because in terms of red lines for example the free democrats have said that one of their red lines as is that they don’t want to see tax increases while the other two parties had put forward the idea of maybe increasing taxes for the richer part of the population for example for the greens to finance ambitious climate goals also in terms of climate goals the fdp has slightly a different approach especially compared to the greens so there are some points there that are going to have to be clarified it’s going to be all about compromise and finding common points that the three parties can agree on julia thank you so much our political correspondent julia saudelli there at the german rights time well as we just heard it looks increasingly likely that one of the biggest obstacles to forging a new governing coalition here in germany will be 2020 Funny Christmas Pajama For Family T-Shirt.

Vinegar Where’s the bowl We originally came here expecting to stay only three years but it was so good we’ve been here nine now It’s also safe And this comes back to the community and the trust We can let our kids go out and we do not have to sit here being really worried that are they going to come back Are they safe where they’re going Do we have to go pick them up You still worry of course but it’s just very different There’s still this very strong sense of family friends community Balance is the formula for happiness Aristotle had it right when he launched the study of happiness 2 300 years ago According to Aristotle’s Golden Mean good behavior lies between two vices excess and deficiency People who pursue only money and say I’ll be happier the richer I am turn out to be less happy I do think having nice surroundings is a 2020 Funny Christmas Pajama For Family T-Shirt part of happiness But I also think it needs to be linked with something that sort of resonates with you on a deeper level Having nice surroundings and having a lot of money and being in a five star hotel in Las Vegas doesn’t make you happy at all So I think it needs to have that balance Cue the classic Nordic work life balance Rich Perusi former New Yorker has been living in Copenhagen for seven years People stay pretty tight to a 9 to 5 workday But I do think that we get as much done in a short period of time here as we were doing in longer times working in New York One of the comments we actually heard when we first came here was a Dane saying when she saw someone working late Are they doing it because they can’t get their work done Is there something wrong with them Versus Are they just trying to get ahead in working There is a sense that yes work’s important and you need to get your work done to a high quality but you also need to make sure it’s balanced appropriately Saara Alhopuro is a diplomat who has shaped her work schedule to make time for her passion So I actually need to go to my physical workplace only three days a week So then the rest of the time I can spend here in the middle of nature When I walk in the forest I walk there very quietly paying attention to all the small details and all the colors Very slowly and I try to spot all the small small details And I completely lose the track of time Usually I spend about five to six hours picking mushrooms People don’t make as much money in the Nordic countries as they do in the U S So it’s not really about how much you make You don’t have to make as much to get the same quality of life as you would in the United States So if we look at the dimension called life satisfaction we can see that that money does matter for well being and happiness But I mean on average richer countries are happier On average richer people are happier But the mechanism here is being without money is a cause of unhappiness Not everyone likes to talk about money either In Finland it’s been this kind of rule that you don’t talk about money that much at least like my parents basically. All across the world many journalists and executives from these television companies we know are watching but we’ve made the event public so that people from other places who are tuning in please you are also free to send us your questions and we’ll try to address them in our conversation please use the zoom app or facebook messenger to enix news that’s all one word enix news my name is tim marshall i’m a former foreign correspondent and presenter at the enix uk partner sky news this is the third webinar in our series we started with the us elections then the climate crisis and today we wanted to speak with someone at the global political level someone who can bring together those topics and link to many more so we’re delighted to be joined live from berlin by the leader of the sbd olaf schultz uh mr schultz is germany’s finance minister vice chancellor and the sbd candidate to become chancellor in next year’s elections welcome mr schultz thank you very much it’s uh it’s good evening to join us uh biz I know all your weeks are busy but it’s a particular busy week certainly in the news business as well a new president elect in the usa germany you’re last going back into lockdown as we are in the uk and several eu countries and of course it’s economic shocks um but this is also a chance to congratulate a german company for the potential breakthrough in a vaccine we’ll we’ll come to that the first question minister it’s been a rocky four years in the german u s relationship I think you would uh admit that what changes do you expect this change in leadership to bring this is a new chance for transatlantic partnership uh I think it is absolutely key that we understand that there is uh a lot of that there are a lot of common interests between the united states and europe and the nato is one of the symbols of this cooperation but there is more in it it is not just interest in questions of safety it’s also something which brings us together when we look at democracy the rule of law and other questions which are important. The first is about respect and working on a society that is giving respect to any person in our country and so that we have a better development and that the populists are running out the second is to work on the future which is mostly meaning that we work on technological progress otherwise we won’t be successful in the world of the future and work on technological progress which makes it feasible that we will have a co2 neutral economy and the third is a strong and sovereign europe so three big questions important for the future of our sis of germany and of europe and a multilateral world there was 52 minutes uh vice chancellor which uh personally I thoroughly enjoyed I i hope uh you did as well certainly hope people uh watching did uh thank you very much uh it to give us so much time uh I know that uh people at your level tend to live your lives in 15 minute chunks so to give us a 52 minute chunk uh we are very grateful uh so olaf schultz uh germany’s finance minister vice chancellor of germany dan kashun thank you to everybody thank you sir thank you to everybody watching this uh enix webinar uh there will be more and we hope you join us then 2 45 ĐANG PHÁT Olaf Scholz is not hello a very warm welcome from berlin where the leaders of germany’s two main parties are both claiming the right to govern after this unpredictable election race but with the centre left sbd emerging as the single biggest party they’ve been quick to press home their advantage in just the last hour their candidate for chancellor olaf schultz has been pushing the case to be the only party worthy of forming a coalition their lead over the centre right christian democrats that’s the party of angela merkel may be a slim one but this is a party the cdu csu block which has just been handed its worst ever result in a national election now according to the german electoral commission the figures are like this the center left spd are on 25 7 percent of the vote the center right conservatives that cdu and csu combined on 24 1 so to form a majority

Populism I mean we’ve we’ve touched on this a 2020 Funny Christmas Pajama For Family T-Shirt little bit I mean you know mr trump may not have won but he won 70 million votes which suggests that the populism there uh when it increased it didn’t decline and you have the afd we have uh parties here right across europe there are political parties now which are household names but 10 years ago we would have struggled to name anything except the front national in france um what are you doing to combat populism and to make sure that the center ground holds because it seems to me that populism has not peaked either in america or here first the analysis is not absolutely correct correct there has been not just the foundational if you look at the netherlands they have a populist movement for very long time we have it in austria with a party like the fpo we have it in the scandinavian countries for more for some decades if you look at uh now that we know of them I i knew of them the norwegian one this the danish one we now have new ones in sweden and in finland and as you mentioned in germany so I think the right question is to understand why this is happening and if you look at the the countries involved in europe or if you look at the united states for instance it is one of the consequences of um it’s something that’s happening in rich countries and it is a consequence of of of of the development of what michael young called meritocracy I think I i don’t know whether you read his very small book where he looks written 1958 where he looks back to from 2035 to our times and if you read it it looks as he was reporting the right the real life we are living in it’s had quite an influence in intellectual circles here yes yeah and uh if you now read the new book of michael sandel uh the tyranny of merit yes you find the same question in there which is saying that there is a question for a part of a big part of the population if they feel that their activities their lives their perspectives are treated with respect if they are seen and if if they count my view is that the. In order to get their support so as germany awakes to this new day after the election there really is a lot of uncertainty about what’s going to happen next now the action packed united nations general assembly concludes at un headquarters in new york today as you all know if you’ve been watching we on in the last week over a hundred world leaders defied coronavirus fears to meet in person the session however may end without speeches by those in government in myanmar and afghanistan there have been rival claims for myanmar’s united nations seats after the military coup that ousted the elected government in february of this year myanmar’s u s ambassador mo tun was initially expected to address the general assembly today but a high level u n diplomat has told the news agency afp that an agreement was reached between the united states russia and china preventing myanmar’s you and ambassador from speaking diplomats said that china russia and the u s reached an understanding where moscow and beijing would not object to kwamotun remaining in myanmar’s u n seat for the moment as long as he does not speak during the high level meeting was chosen by myanmar’s former leader aung sushi now jailed he’s an outspoken supporter of the democracy movement and refused the military hunter’s orders to quit he’s retained his seat at the u n since the coup earlier this year in may the hunter appointed a former general to replace him but the united nations has not yet approved that appointment un spokesman stefan dujaric said that at this point myanmar is not speaking many now see this meddling by the united states china and russia as an attempt to muzzle the myanmar envoy while three members of the u n security council have reached an understanding to deny crisis hit myanmar representation on the united nations general assembly stage the situation on the ground in the country is only worsening the myanmar military launched airstrikes over the weekend after clashes with fighters in sangang region phone lines were cut the internet was. Wool in the event of china invading taiwan the big question that will determine the future of the region and probably the world is will the us come to taiwan’s defense professor david brophy believes that’s no longer entirely certain we have tended to assume in this discussion that if there was a chinese move that the united states would be there but people in taiwan are asking themselves the question is that actually the case would america be willing to risk a confrontation with china that could escalate into attacks on america on the chinese mainland for the sake of taiwan Music if america does not do anything it would be the beginning of the end of the u s led alliance in the system and if you spend any time in washington at all you will realize that that is not acceptable to the americans if you look at the last 100 years of history america does sacrifice blood and treasure in a big way to achieve the strategic aims so I would say almost with certainty the us will come to taiwan’s defence john lee is right if the u s doesn’t react then it loses all strategic credibility in the region and the broad risk of the u s losing strategic credibility in the region would be horrendous for australia we would be on our own as well as increasingly aggressive international moves like expanding china’s huge navy into the pacific president xi jinping has been cracking down hard on his own people to bring them into line with communist party thinking she calls it rectification and he’s banned everything from boy bands and reality tv shows to foreign computer games and apps china’s private schools have been all but decimated by new regulations and lessons on what’s called xi jinping thought are now compulsory in primary schools it’s as if it’s a population being readied for trouble so if it came to war how would it actually play out we have to be able to sink the pla navy the largest navy in the world today we have to put it under the water down to davy jones’s locker we have to sink that fleet former director of intelligence and information operations for the u s pacific fleet captain james e fennell has wargamed an invasion of taiwan and says china would use a tactic learned from the u s military operation desert storm during the first gulf war Music the strategy called shock and awe we know from chinese writings that they’ve studied desert storm the chinese have thousands and thousands of ballistic missiles that are arrayed along the chinese east coast and those rockets and those ballistic missiles would be targeting taiwan’s key nodes military centers their ports their airfields known garrison locations of taiwan army forces I think there’s no question in my mind that china once they make the decision to do this they will come full full bore like a like a crazy man with an axe the skies over baghdad have been illuminated in the first gulf war the united states bombed iraq for 42 days and 42 nights consecutively in order to achieve its objectives there is nothing that’s stopping china from doing that and there is very.

The shirt is super soft and the image is perfect. My only complaint is I feel the sizing is a little off and runs small. Love it regardless and would purchase from the shop again!

Good quality and fits well! The red color is pretty bright so if that’s not your thing, stick to black or gray. Shipping took about a week. Bought this for a gift and my friend loved it! 🙂
