This skit worked out, but I can’t imagine how this pitch went at the meeting It’s skits like this that make me wonder, “what kind of drugs do they take in the writer’s room?” Why am I just now seeing this for the first time?! Why is it terrible and amazing at the same time? What the hell is happening? What’s funny is that supposedly Tom Hanks didn’t like the sketch when he read it and Halloween Donald duck trick or treat T-shirt. But they had extra time to do another sketch and ended up doing it anyway. Then it became SNL gold. The next day Tom Hanks was being told how hilarious it was. People don’t remember that Tom Hanks originally started his movie career doing comedy movies but the became more famous for his dramatic acting. In my opinion he should return to some comedy movies because he was pretty good playing the straight man in comedy movies. I really loved his comedy/horror movie The Burbs. They should do a sequel of it.
